“Mindfulness is paying attention in a particular way, on purpose, in the present moment, without judgement.” - Jon Kabat-Zinn
In order for our learners to get the most out of their virtual sessions we need to keep them in the moment and focused on their learning objectives. How do we do this in our growing virtual world? Mindfulness plays a big role in how we operate on a daily basis, same goes for our learners.
Distractions play a bigger part when facilitating virtually, and not only that but fears and insecurities about the past and future can make it difficult to fully appreciate the present moment.
When you understand these things you can ask better questions to create an overall better learning experience. Knowing where your learner is at in the moment and what they need most will translate into better engagement overall.
All of these reasons are why we need to make sure as facilitators we are not just reciting memorized material but are fully present for our learners.
In this session Lauren will cover how to be mindful in your own life and bring that mindfulness into your virtual sessions. She will explain why it's so important to understand your learners mindset as well as what they need/want to get out of your sessions with them.
Participants will learn how to do this and walk away with applicable strategies to incorporate in their own sessions right away.
What is mindfulness and how can you incorporate into your own life.
Understand the importance of bringing mindfulness into the virtual classroom and learn how to do this.
Learn how mindfulness can help you ask better questions to create better virtual learning experiences.
